Can Palm Lines Change Over Time

Many people are surprised to learn that palm lines are not completely fixed. Some change slowly over a lifetime.

What stays the same

The basic hand shape, finger lengths and the overall pattern of the major lines remain largely stable through adult life.

What can change

  • Minor lines may appear, deepen, fade or disappear.
  • Fate and sun lines can strengthen as a person finds their direction.
  • Small branches, breaks and islands may form or heal.
  • Stress lines can multiply during difficult periods and reduce in calmer times.

Why lines change

Palmists believe the hand reflects the mind and nervous system. As thinking, habits and circumstances change, the finer lines change too.

A positive message

Because lines can change, palmistry encourages growth. Good decisions, discipline and a positive outlook can improve the signs in your hand. Taking a photo of your palms once a year is an interesting way to notice changes.
