Panchang is used in Indians to find auspicious times (subh muhurats) to start anything in life, like marriage, naming of baby, starting new business, building or entering a new house or anything important in life. Panchang also states bad or inauspicious times in a day or in a month for a specific location. This is to warn or guild that these times should be avoided. Hindu events, puja, celebrations are also scheduled as per Panchang, for example Lakhshmi Puja is scheduled in Purnima Tithi, Durga Puja is scheduled in Saptami Tithi.
