Best Time and Way to Read a Palm

A palm reading is clearest when the hand is calm and the light is good. Traditional palmistry also recommends a few simple practices.

Best time

Traditionally, palms are read in the morning, when the mind is fresh and the hands are rested. Avoid reading right after heavy work, a bath in very hot water or a meal, when the hand may look different.

Good light

Natural daylight near a window is best. Avoid harsh yellow light, which can hide fine lines. A magnifying glass helps with small signs.

How to hold the hand

  • Ask the person to relax their hand and hold it naturally, slightly cupped.
  • Notice how they offer it: open and spread, or closed and tight, reveals temperament.
  • Gently press the mounts to feel their firmness.

Respect and care

Speak kindly and focus on strengths and guidance. A good reading leaves a person feeling understood and encouraged, never frightened.
