What each hand shows
The non-dominant hand shows natural potential and inherited traits; the dominant hand shows how a person has developed and what they are doing now.
Common differences
- Stronger lines on the dominant hand: growth through effort.
- Weaker lines on the dominant hand: unused potential.
- Fate line only on the dominant hand: a self-made career.
- Different head lines: a change in thinking style over life.
Traditional Indian view
Traditionally, the right hand is read for men and the left for women, but modern palmists usually read both and give more weight to the dominant hand.
