Upper and Lower Mount of Mars

Mars has two mounts on the palm, representing two kinds of courage.

Lower Mars (inner Mars)

Lower Mars lies just above the thumb, between the mount of Venus and the mount of Jupiter, inside the life line. It shows physical courage, energy and the drive to act. A well-developed lower Mars belongs to brave, active people; an over-developed one can show aggression.

Upper Mars (outer Mars)

Upper Mars lies on the outer edge of the palm, between the mount of Mercury and the mount of the Moon. It shows moral courage, patience, endurance and the ability to stand firm. A strong upper Mars belongs to people who do not give up easily.

Balanced Mars

When both are moderately developed, a person has courage combined with self-control — the ideal balance.
