Rahu and Ketu Areas on the Palm

Indian palmistry also includes areas for Rahu and Ketu, the shadow planets of Vedic astrology. Western palmistry does not usually use them.

Rahu area

The Rahu area is generally placed in the centre of the palm, around the fate line in the plain of Mars. A clear fate line through this area shows a steady middle life, while breaks or crossing lines are linked with sudden changes and challenges in the middle years.

Ketu area

The Ketu area is at the base of the palm, just above the wrist, between the mounts of Venus and Moon. It is linked with early life, past karma and spiritual tendencies. A well-formed Ketu area is linked with a good start in life.

Using these areas

Palmists often combine these areas with a birth chart. If Rahu or Ketu look troubled in both, remedies such as hessonite (for Rahu) or cat's eye (for Ketu) may be considered after careful advice.
