Place: Shakti peeth Gandaki is situated in a popular place of Nepal. The                specific name of the place is known as Muktinath. People can visit this place once                they cross Silliguri border.                                                                        
Description: Shakti peeth Gandaki is known for falling off right cheek of                Ma Sati. People of that place have named the idol of sati as Gandaki chandi. Commonly                we can call it as Gandhak.                
                The meaning of the same is overcoming various obstructions that is created on the                way. Lord Shiva is known as Chakrapani (one who holds discus).

                This place is near to Valmiki Ashram where Rishi Valmiki lived and wrote his great                epic Ramayana and also the place where the Ashwamedh horse was tied.                                
                As per Purana, king Dharmadwaja was devotee of goddess Lakshmi and chaned and became                enemy of the goddess. A stone was found from Gandaki River there which is known                as Saligrama Sila. This Sila or stone is mentioned as Devi Bhagavath and worshipped                by Hindus. Tulsi feel love with Lord Krishna here and later on married to the Lord                Krishna. Since then, Tulsi is also worshiped along with the Saligram Sila all the                times. It is also a holy place for the bddists and they named the place as Chumig                Gyatsa which means lots of water where as Hindues named as Mukthiksehtra which means                place for Mukti or place of salvation.
