Description:While Lord Shiva carried the dead of Goddess sati, her right ankle had fallen in this particular place. The idol is worship with the name “shree sundari”. Also Lord Shiva is known as Sundaranand. Sundani means beautiful goddess where as sundaranand is known for a handsome gentleman. The temple would also have a depiction of the sacrifice laid down by the goddess for her husband. She wanted to keep her husband’s dignity uninterrupted.
