Delhi is the National Capital Territory of India. It is one of the most diverse metropolitan cities of India offering the best education, healthcare, and career opportunities to people. Hence, many students and families migrate to Delhi every year. The major festival that is celebrated with utmost joy and enthusiasm here is Diwali. Diwali marks the return of Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Laxman to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. Every year Hindu households celebrate this Day with lights, sweets, and worship of Laxmi and Ganesha. People also decorate their homes with lights, flowers, and many other decorations that look absolutely wonderful. The people of Delhi celebrate this festival with absolute Joy. Ram Leela and Diwali Melas are held all over the city with festivity and enthusiasm.
Other major festivals celebrated here are Eid-Ul-Zuha and Eid-Ul-Fitr, the primary festivals of Muslims. The former involves the sacrifice of a goat while the latter is the culmination of the month of Ramzan. Delhi also witnesses other diverse festivals like Holi, Navratra, Durga Puja, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Lohri, etc. Delhi has a mixed population from people all around the country and hence, almost all major festivals are celebrated here.
