Vastu Educational institution
Schools, colleges, and training centres where courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Medicine, Engineering, Management, Architecture, Biotechnology, and other professional fields are conducted are called educational institutions. Such an institute usually consists of several buildings, classrooms, a canteen, libraries, laboratories, a playground, hostels, common rooms, and so on.
It is a place where energy plays a vital role in creating a calm and positive atmosphere, which helps both students and teachers achieve good results. Creating a positive atmosphere is essential for students' success. For this reason, it is very important to build the place according to Vastu rules, so that pupils have room to excel in both study and other activities. Another important goal every institute seeks is goodwill, which can be earned by carefully following Vastu rules.
Every institute should be built according to Vastu rules to make the educational place a treasure and to provide a student-friendly atmosphere. Below are some Vastu tips for planning an educational institution.
- The shape of the institute's plot should be rectangular (with a size ratio not exceeding 1:2), square, or circular. A triangular or irregular shape is not favorable for an educational institution.
- Institute building should be in the South-west or South part of the Plot.
- Main entrance gate should be in the East or North-East Side.
- The office of the Educational Institute should be in the South East side.
- Staircase may be made in the North West, West or in the South West side of the institute building.
- The laboratory should be in the West side of the building.
- The Library should be in the East side of the building.
- Principal’s office should be in the South West side of the building, West or South East.
- Classrooms should be square or rectangular. Students should face the North side, East side, or North-East corner. The teacher should sit or stand higher than the students; ideally, the teacher's place should be on a raised platform. Blackboards are commonly used in classrooms, but a green board is recommended instead of black. Red, Black, Pink, and Brown should be avoided; preferred colors are Yellow, Blue, White, or Green. Classrooms should be light-colored, using white, green, yellow, or a combination of these colors.
- Conference Hall should be in the North side of the building with entrance in East direction.
- The entrance of class rooms should be in the East or North direction.
- Store room should be located in the North-West corner of the building.
- Toilets should be in the North-West corner of the building.
- The open playground should be on the North or East side of the institute's plot.
- The water tank should be placed in the North-East corner.
- The staff room should be located on the North-Western side.
- The beams in the classroom should be built carefully, making sure that no students sit under the beams.
- The North-Western direction is the best location for the canteen.
