A house contains several doors and windows, and the main door of the house should be unique in style compared to the others. Doors and windows enhance our lives. If you install a window in the wrong direction, it can create an adverse situation in the house, and vice versa. People should pay attention to the direction and placement of windows and doors. It is a fact that people today mostly think about the design of doors and windows, but as per Vastu, we should follow certain tips and guidelines when installing doors and windows in a house.

The door should be around 7 to 8 feet in height and around 4 feet in width. The entrance door should be larger and more attractive than the others. A window's level should be equal to that of the door, and there should not be fewer windows than doors. It is a fact that more air comes from the South than from any other direction, but we should avoid building a window on the south side. The toilet door should be kept at a distance and should not be in line with any window or door.

Since it is not considered auspicious to have square-shaped windows or doors, they should be made rectangular in shape. The door should close by hand; if it closes automatically, it may harm children. The height and width of the door should be in a ratio of 2:1.

Any cracked door should be replaced with a new one. Doors that make noise while moving should be repaired. We must avoid placing one door directly above another in a multi-storeyed building.

For an east-facing house, the entrance should face East, so that the main door of the house falls on the North side. This is very auspicious and gives good results.

When the house faces South, the main door should be placed towards the West, so that the door falls in the North direction.

In a north-facing house, the main door should face North, falling in the East.

But the entrance of a south-facing house should face North, with the door falling in the East.

In the case of two rooms on the same floor, we should be mindful that the main doors do not open facing each other.
