• Loading and unloading in the north-west or north.

Storage layout

• Heavy and long-term stock in the south-west.
• Goods meant to move quickly in the north-west.
• Keep the north-east open and clean.
• Avoid storing goods at the centre.

Other points

• The floor should slope towards the north or east.
• Keep the warehouse dry, well ventilated and well lit.
• Office or supervisor's cabin in the south-west, facing north or east.
• Fire safety equipment in the south-east.
