Toilet and Bathroom Vaastu Rules

Toilets and bathrooms are necessary, but in Vaastu they must be placed carefully, as they release waste and negative energy.

Best directions

  • Toilets: north-west, west or the west of south; the south-south-west and west-north-west zones are often recommended.
  • Bathrooms (bathing only): east or north, where morning light helps keep them fresh.

Directions to avoid

  • North-east: the most serious defect; linked with health and financial problems.
  • South-west: linked with instability and loss of savings.
  • Centre (Brahmasthan): disturbs the energy of the whole home.
  • South-east: can cause disputes and health issues.

Arrangement inside

  • The toilet seat should face north or south, so you do not face east or west while using it.
  • Shower and wash basin in the north or east.
  • Geyser in the south-east.
  • An exhaust fan or window in the east or north.

Good habits

Keep the toilet door closed and the seat lid down. Keep the room dry, clean and well lit. Fix leaking taps immediately, as constant dripping is linked with money loss.
