The owner's or managing director's cabin should be in the south-west of the office. This zone gives control, stability and respect.
Seating direction
- The owner should sit facing north or east.
- A solid wall should be behind the chair, not a window or door.
- The desk should be rectangular and made of wood.
- Visitors should sit facing south or west.
Staff seating
- Sales and marketing teams in the north-west.
- Accounts and finance in the north or south-east.
- Senior managers in the south and west.
- Reception in the north-east or east.
Office layout tips
- Keep the north-east open and clean, ideally a reception or waiting area.
- Pantry in the south-east, toilets in the north-west or west.
- Avoid sitting under beams.
- Keep the office clutter-free and well lit.
