Indian actor and singer Singanalluru Puttaswamayya Muthuraju or Rajkumar was also known as Appaji, born on 24 th April, 1929 in Tamil Nadu. He started his career since eight years of age and joined Drama Company named Gubbi. His debut film was Berada Kannappa in 1954. He did more than 200 films and his last project was Shabdhavedhi. He won Padma Bhusan in 1983 and Dada Saheb Phalke in 1995. He died on 12 th April, 2006due to cardiac arrest. He was married to Parvahtamma and had 5 children. He won many Filmfare awards and also honoured with doctorate from Mysore University.
