Prithviraj Kapoor was born on 3 November 1906. He is considered to be the pioneer of the Indian Film and Theatres. He is one of the prominent actors in both silents as well as the talkie era. He is the patriarch of the famous Kapoor Clan of Bollywood. He started his career as extra with Do Dhaari Talwar. He got his first break as the lead in Cinema Girl (1929), Prince Vijaykumar, Sher-e-Arab and many more. He went on to star in first Indian talkie film Alam Ara (1931). His other great films were Vidyapati(1937), Sikandar(1941), Mughal E Azam(1960), Kal Aaj Aur Kal(1971). He is the founder of Prithvi Theatres. He died of cancer on 29 May 1972.
