Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar was born on November 3, 1937. He along with Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma came to be known as famous music composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. They got their first fame with the movie Parasmani(1963), Dosti(1964), Shagird(1968), Shor 1972, Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Sargam(1980), Dostana (1980), Mr India(198), Ram Lakhan (1989), Saudagar(1991), Do Raaste (1969), Khalnayak(1993), Deewana Mastana(1998), and many more. They had a distinct style to blend Indian classical with Western music. They made use of the Tabala, santoor, Sitar, Dholak, Piano, Bongo, Guitar, Violin. They had composed over 3000 songs.Laxmikant died on May 25, 1998, due to kidney failure.
