One of the famous Ghazal singers and composers, Jagjit Singh was born on 8 th Feb, 1941 Rajasthan to parents Sardar Amar Singh Dhiman and Sardarni Bachchan Kaur. He studied from Khalsa High School and graduated from DAV College in Arts. He was married to Chitra another singer from his generation. His singing debut was from the All India Radio in 1961. His famous tracks are from the films Tum Bin, Dushman, Sarfarosh, Arth (debut for playback singing in 1982) etc. he was also known as the Ghazal King. He died on 10 th Oct, 2011.
