He mainly acted in strong supporting roles or fther figure characters.He acted in the movies like Asha, Rajlakshmi O Srikanta, Headmaster, Kancher Swarga, Ta Holey, Ashanata Ghoorni, Thana Theke Aschi, Chinna Patra, Rater Rajanigandha, Mem Saheb, Nagar Darpane, Golap Bou, Father, Anutapand many more. He also directed many films. Some of them are Keranir Jiban, Smriti Tuku Thak, Kancher Swarga, Ekhane Pinjar, Hotel Snow Fox, Byabadhanand many more. He won Certificate of Merit. He died on 31 March 1990.
