Vancouver city is located in the Lower Mainland region of the province of British Columbia in Canada and is also called the City of Neighbourhoods. The city lies in the Burrard Peninsula and is surrounded by the Burrard Inlet, the River Fraser and the Strait of Georgia with the Vancouver Island lying adjacent to it. Vancouver was established as a European colony only in 1862 which makes it one of the youngest cities in the province and the main centres for history are the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Hotel Vancouver, the Vancouver Maritime Museum, the Vancouver Museum and the Museum of Anthropology. The city has primarily a Christian population with the major religious shrine being the Christ Church Cathedral. The economy of Vancouver is largely dependent on industry with Port Metro Vancouver providing an easy access to the import and export of goods while forestry and mining are also important economic activities in this area.
Panchang is used in Indians to find auspicious times (subh muhurats) to start anything in life, like marriage, naming of baby, starting new business, building or entering a new house or anything important in life. Panchang also states bad or inauspicious times in a day or in a month for a specific location. This is to warn or guild that these times should be avoided. Hindu events, puja, celebrations are also scheduled as per Panchang, for example Lakhshmi Puja is scheduled in Purnima Tithi, Durga Puja is scheduled in Saptami Tithi. Good moments are scheduled using Yoga, Nakshtra, Karan etc. Here on this page we calculate Tithi, Paksha, Yoga, Karan for a specific city and date. Also it calculates sunrise, sunset time for the city. Moon phases or moon circles plays important role since ancient ages and hence is an important part of Panchang.
