Valsad city is located in the Valsad district of the state of Gujarat in India and is also known as the City of Peace. The city is set in the coastal region of the state with the Arabian Sea lying quite close at hand with the Auranga and Wanki rivers flowing through and the main beach being the Tithal Beach. Valsad came into prominence only after the British Era during the Nineteenth Century when it was known as Bulsar with the Callian Baug being an important historical site. Valsad has an industrial economy that deals with chemicals, textiles, paper and pulp while also dealing largely with horticulture which deals with the production of food grains. Private organisations like Raymond, Pidilite and Vadilal have set up shop in this city.
