Rohtak city is located in the Rohtak district of the state of Haryana in India and is a part of the National Capital Region. The city is situated in a very arid region and receives very less as well as extremely uneven rainfall throughout the year. Archaeological excavations in the Khokhrakot region have confirmed that Rohtak is an ancient civilisation going as far back as 3rd to 4th Century. Various styles of architecture from past historical times can be seen in the city and among them the Qilla Mohallah is particularly noteworthy. The main centre of religion in the city is Baba Mast Nath Math while there are also various other Hindu temples in the area. Due to its dry weather conditions, farming is almost negligible in Rohtak and hence the economy is mostly dependant on industry. Various Multi National Corporations have set up shop in this city and among them the Maruti Research and Development Plant is particularly noteworthy.

পঞ্জিকা হলো হিন্দু বর্ষপঞ্জি। এটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অনুষ্ঠান — বিবাহ, শিশুর নামকরণ, ব্যবসা শুরু বা নতুন গৃহে প্রবেশের জন্য শুভ মুহূর্ত বেছে নিতে এবং অশুভ সময়গুলি চিহ্নিত করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়, যা এড়িয়ে চলাই ভালো। উৎসব এবং পূজাও এর দ্বারা নির্ধারিত হয়: উদাহরণস্বরূপ, লক্ষ্মী পূজা পূর্ণিমা তিথিতে পড়ে এবং দুর্গাপূজা সপ্তমী তিথিতে।
নামটির অর্থ “পাঁচটি অঙ্গ”: তিথি, বার (সপ্তাহের দিন), নক্ষত্র, যোগ এবং করণ। এই পৃষ্ঠাটি নির্বাচিত শহর এবং তারিখের জন্য এগুলি গণনা করে, সেইসাথে সূর্যোদয়, সূর্যাস্ত এবং চন্দ্র-এর দশা প্রদর্শন করে। সময়গুলো অবস্থানের উপর নির্ভর করে, তাই শহরভেদে এগুলো ভিন্ন হয়।
তিথি এবং পক্ষ
একটি তিথি হলো সেই সময়কাল যা চন্দ্র 12° এগিয়ে যেতে রবি থেকে নেয়, তাই একটি চান্দ্র মাসে 30টি তিথি থাকে: প্রতিপদ, দ্বিতীয়া, তৃতীয়া, চতুর্থী, পঞ্চমী, ষষ্ঠী, সপ্তমী, অষ্টমী, নবমী, দশমী, একাদশী, দ্বাদশী, ত্রয়োদশী, চতুর্দশী এবং পূর্ণিমা শুক্ল পক্ষে (শুক্ল পক্ষ), এবং কৃষ্ণ পক্ষে (কৃষ্ণ পক্ষ) অমাবস্যা-তে শেষ হওয়া একই পনেরোটি তিথি।
করণ এবং যোগ
প্রতিটি তিথির দুটি করণ থাকে: চলনশীল বব, বালব, কৌলব, তৈতিল, গর, বণিজ ও বিষ্টি (ভদ্র), এবং স্থির শকুনি, চতুষ্পদ, নাগ ও কিস্তুঘ্ন। 27টি যোগ আছে, যা রবি এবং চন্দ্র-এর দ্রাঘিমাংশ যোগ করে এবং 13°20′ দিয়ে ভাগ করে পাওয়া যায়: বিষ্কম্ভ, প্রীতি, আয়ুষ্মান, সৌভাগ্য, শোভন, অতিগণ্ড, সুকর্মা, ধৃতি, শূল, গণ্ড, বৃদ্ধি, ধ্রুব, ব্যাঘাত, হর্ষণ, বজ্র, সিদ্ধি, ব্যতীপাত, বরিয়ান, পরিঘ, শিব, সিদ্ধ, সাধ্য, শুভ, শুক্ল, ব্রহ্ম, ইন্দ্র এবং বৈধৃতি।
কোনো যাত্রা বা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজ শুরু করার আগে, উপরের শুভ সময়গুলি বেছে নিন এবং রাহু কাল, যমগণ্ড, গুলিক কাল, দূর মুহূর্ত ও মৃত্যু সময়কাল এড়িয়ে চলুন।
