Located at an elevation of 107 meter or 351 ft, this Junagadh, of the state Gujarat, is almost 355 km away from both the cities, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Junagadh is surrounded by Arabian Sea in the south west edge, in the north edge there is Porbandar, and the eastern end is sealed by Amreli. Though it is laying at the base of Mount Girnar, the soil of Junagadh, is mainly of medium black type coastal alluvium, primarily because of its adjacency to the nearest sea.
