Ajman city is in the emirate of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates and is the capital city of this emirate which is the smallest of all the emirates. The city is located in the coastal region of the Persian Gulf and the area is filled with mountains, valleys and fertile lands with Dubai lying quite close to it. The city has Islam as its official religion with the important place of worship being the Corniche Mosque. Ajman is an important centre of commerce having a presence of various enterprises, trade centres and retail outlets while the industry and trade based on pisciculture is also located here. The Ajman Port and Ajman Free Zone are major economic sectors.
