Roma Dasgupta better known as Suchitra Sen to the Bengali and Hindi audience was the most dignified and profesional film actress. She was born on 6 th April, 1931 in Bangladesh to Karunamoy and Dasgupta and Indira Devi. Sen studied from Pabna Govt. School and then married to Dibanath Sen. Her acting debut was Sesh Kothaay in 1952 but Sharey Chuattor grabbed the eyes of the audience. Her hindi film debut with the film Aandhi fetched her the Filmfare award in 1974. She won the best actress for Saat Paake Badha in Moscow International Film Festival and Padma Shri in 1972. She died on 17 th Jan, 2014.
