He studied in Rabindra Bharati Universtiy and has a management degree from Mumbai. He is married to Anindita Chatterjee and has a child Niyasa Chatterjee. He is involved with social works with Voice Of World. He also won Uttam kalaratna Puroskar, Best Promising awards etc. He joined the political party TMC.
