Dilip Kumar was born on 11 December 1922. His full name is Muhammad Yusuf Khan. Regarded nationally and internationally as one of the greatest film actors of all ties, he is known to bring the real ethos and element to a character rather than dramatization earning him the title of Tragedy King. He debuted in Hindi Film Industry with film Jwar Bhata(1944). His notable films are Andaz(1949), Babul(1950), Deedar(1951), Daag(1952), Mughal-e-Azam(1960), Madhumati(1958), Naya Daur(1957), Devdas(1955), Kohinoor(1960), Ram Aur Shyam(1967), Gunga Jamuna(1961)After taking a sabbatical break of five years, he switched to character roles in Kranti(1981), Karma(1986). His last acted in Qila(1998).
