Son of late Vinod Khanna and Geetanjali Taleyarkhan, Akshay was born on 28 th March, 1975 in Jalandhar. He is the alumnus of Kishore Nimit Acting Institute. His acting debut was with the films Himalayputra and Border both released in 1997. Some of his best works are Dil Chahta Hai (wonFilmfare for the best supporting actor), Hungama, Border (won filmfare as debutant), Humraaz (nominated for best acter, negative), Gandhi, Race, Ittefaq and Mom in 2017 and recently The Accidental Prime Minister and Section 375 in 2019. He also won several other awards like IIFA, Star and Zee Cine.
