Yash Johar was born on 6th September 1929. He is a film producer and founder of Dharma Production. He started his career as the assistant director in Sunil Dutts production Anjana Arts and Dev Anands Navketan Films. After founding Dharma Productions in 1976, Johar produced his first film, Dostana which was a huge hit. Other films that had reached success at that time were Duplicate, Agneepath and Gumrah. His son Karan Johar made his directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai(1998) under the production turning out to be a massive success..His last produced film is Kal Ho Na Ho. He died on 26th June 2004 succumbing to chest infection and cancer.
