The three time national award winner actress Saraswati Devi aka Sharada was born on 25 th June, 1945 in Guntur to parents Venkateswar Rao and Satyavati Devi. She was married to Chalam. Before films she started her career in theatre of Telugu language and became famous from Rakta Kanneeru. Her debut Telugu film was Kanyasulkam. Some of her best works are Iddaru Mitrulu, Iruttinte Athmavu, Thulabharam etc. she has a chocolate factory called Lotus Chocolate. She won many awards including Filmfare, Nandi, BFJA etc. She last appeared in Ammakkoru Tharattu in 2015. She is the member of parliament of Telugu Deasm party.
