Dream girl of Bollywood Hema Malini was born on 16 th Oct, 1948 to parents VSR and Jaya Lakshmi Chakravarti. She married Dharmendra and has two children. She studied from DTEA Mandir Marg. She debuted in a Tamil film Ithu Sathiyam, 1961 as a dancer however as a lead in Sapno Ka Saudagar, 1968. She starred in more than 150 films. She also won the Padma Shri, 2000. From 2003 to 09 she was the member of Rajya Sabha and is a lifetime member of ISKCON, supports PETA and is a strict vegan. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer who became the chairperson of NFDC.
