Haradhan Bannerjee was born on 6 November 1926. He was an actor working mainly in Bengali television and films. Before screen, he was famous as stage artist with more than hundreds of plays to his credit. He debuted in the film industry with Devdut(1948) directed by Atanu Bandopadhyay. His notable films include Niyoti(1951), Mahanagar(1963), Kapurush(1965), Sonar Kella(1974), Devi Chaudhurani(1974), Baba Felunath(1978), Ogo Bodhu Shundori(1981), Goopy Bagha Phire Elo(1991), Parineeta (2005), Gorosthaney Sabdhan(2010), Barfi!(2012), Khoka 420(2013). He won prestigious awards like Banga BibhushanbyGovernment of West Bengal[2011].
