Interesting facts about the place: The body of the legend, Francis Xavier has been taken to Malacca at first. There after the body was again been shipped back to Goa. According to many people, after the death of St F. Xavier, the body remained as fresh as he was alive till the time he was buried. Huge number of devotees available was still attracted with the saint. Even the non Christian people were really happy to visit the church and have a look at the body of saint.
